WWII Minorities DBQ In the mist of the countries involvement in one of the most grueling wars in history new barriers were broken to make room for an equal America. Although true equality was not reached, these short four years would lead to the turning point in American acceptance toward diversity, both in and out of the work place. The movement of thousands of men overseas create a substantial gap in the work place, creating a never before seen chance for women, Blacks, and immigrants to flood the many war based jobs. At the same time, the Japanese faced radical discrimination for the events in which provoked the United States entry in to the War. In the years incasing WWII opportunity opened to those who had been affected hardest butâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Although radical views still faced the Japanese during this time there outcome lessened in the years after the war. Japanese Americans in the military would show much heroism overseas redeeming the name of their people in the United States. Although the Japanese brought no civil upheaval it was learned after the war their true patriotism for the nation as many remained in the country that imprisoned them for three long years. Blacks in the depression were among the hardest hit and the opening market of jobs in the years of the war replaced that poverty with livable reality for many. Some joined the military, hoping to fight their way to respect and acceptance in the nation they called home. But in Document B we see the continuing discrimination upon the Black population selflessly serving the country. It wasnââ¬â¢t until posters. like the one shown in Document A, showed people around the United States how respectable and equal these black soldiers were. At home in the work force many would be turned away because of their color. In Document F and H President Roosevelt demands the employment of blacks under Executive Order 8802, as they will help lead the nation to a war power from their dedication and hard work.
